Wesley Mwafulirwa

Wesley Mwafulirwa is a Senior Partner at John Tennyson Kawelo & Associates. He has played a pivotal role in law reform as a Special Law Commissioner for the development of the Malawian Whistleblower Bill. Wesley is recognized for his involvement in groundbreaking public interest litigation, focusing on human rights at both domestic and continental levels.

Currently, he is a PhD Candidate at the University of Cape Town, where his research examines the law as an enabler or barrier to freedom of political expression online. Wesley holds an MA (cum laude) in Compliance from IACA, Austria, and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Malawi. He has also worked as a lecturer at Mzuzu University and the University of Cape Town.
