Resilience support
ARC firmly believes that building resilience for artists is essential for sustaining their creativity and enabling them to thrive, especially after facing significant challenges or crises. Artists often face systemic barriers that hinder their ability to rebuild their careers and continue their work, which is why ARC prioritizes providing short-term assistance to those no longer under imminent threat. ARC aims to empower artists to reclaim their agency and continue contributing meaningfully to their communities and the broader cultural landscape.
This Resilience support is designed to help artists regain stability, strengthen their artistic practice, and rebuild their professional networks. It encompasses financial assistance to cover artistic projects, professional development through training and mentorship, advocacy to amplify artists’ voices and raise awareness, access to global resources and networks, and community-building initiatives to foster connection and collaboration.
When funds are available, ARC provides Resilience Grants (up to $3,000) that can be used to cover a wide range of work-related expenses, such as the production of new artistic projects, acquiring essential tools and supplies (e.g., art materials, camera, and video equipment), renting studio space, enrolling in classes or workshops, participating in cultural exchanges, traveling for exhibitions or work opportunities, or fostering peer-to-peer collaborations.
When applicable, ARC updates this page with open calls for applications for ARC Resilience Grants and Fellowships which can include all artists, artists from specific disciplines, or those from particular countries and/or regions. If you are an artist interested in our resilience support, we urge you to keep checking our page for updates on calls for applications and eligibility criteria.

Capacity
Please note that ARC acts as a critical connector between artists and the organizations that offer direct support to help persecuted artists, including emergency and resilience funding and legal and relocation assistance. Given our team’s limited capacity, we can only assist artists who have been threatened directly due to their creative work.
Confidentiality
Your information will be treated as highly confidential and will only be shared with your explicit consent. However, please be aware that ARC is mainly a referral organization and connector. To be able to offer you robust assistance, we will need your permission to share details about your situation with our trusted partners.
