Pascale Laborier

Pascale Laborier is Professor of Political Science at the University of Paris Nanterre / Institute for Social Sciences of Politics (ISP), Associate Researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin and Fellow at the Migrations Convergence Institute (ICM). Her work focuses on forced academic migrations, academic freedom, and policies for rescuing endangered researchers. She recently co-edited the book “Academics in a Century of Displacement” (Springer, 2024) with Leyla Dakhli and Frank Wolff. Laborier currently directs the Géo-récits project, an online platform for narrative cartographies dedicated to the exile journeys of academics. She is also the creator of the traveling exhibition “Standing for Freedom,” developed in collaboration with artist Pierre-Jérôme Adjedj, which highlights portraits of exiled scientists. Currently, she is involved in the creation of UXIL (Université en exil) at Campus Condorcet.
