The emergency fund can be quickly mobilized to provide one-time emergency grants in 3 areas: • Transportation for writers fleeing violence • Settlement and immigration costs • Medical expenses related to persecution
Description
PEN Canada envisions a world where writers are free to write, readers are free to read, and freedom of expression prevails. PEN Canada campaigns to defend writers across the world and defends the right to freedom of expression. It also educates Canadian students and organizes programs on the topic of free speech.
