ARC will attend the Art at Risk Conference in Zurich, Switzerland on February 27-29, 2020. Organized by artasfoundation and supported by the section Culture and Development of the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC/Swiss FDFA) and the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), the conference theme is “Creative Work in Challenging Contexts.” The conference will look at the Global North’s responsibility vis-a-vis the Global South to build a relationship of mutual responsibility regarding artistic freedom of expression. Discussions will be held about the risks for artists and art around the world, but also about the transformative potential of artistic processes in difficult contexts.

On Thursday, February 27, ARC will have a table presentation to share our work and build our network. On Saturday, February 29, ARC’s director Julie Trebault will also provide input for the discussion group on “Foreign Support for Artists Working under Authoritarian Regimes.”
