Eliexer Marquez Duany, also known as “El Funky” (Havana, Cuba, 1981), is a Cuban rapper and activist, a rebellious artist and defender of human rights, recognized in the Latin Hip-Hop community for his versatility and authenticity.
He has been developing his musical career since 1999. In 2003, he won the Grand Prize at the Remix Festival at the Julián del Casal Cultural Center in Havana. That same year, he was a special guest at the Habana Hip-Hop International Festival. In 2013, at the “Los Puños Arriba del Rap Cubano” Festival, he received the award in the “Beff” category. In 2016, with the album Los Más Duros, alongside rapper Maykel Osorbo, he won awards for Best Intro, Best Collaboration, and Best Love Song, and also received an Honorable Mention for Social Content.
Most recently, in 2021, he won two Latin Grammy Awards for his participation in the song “Patria y Vida.” Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work with renowned artists such as Al2 El Aldeano, Silvito El Libre, Gente de Zona, Descemer Bueno, and others. He continues to create and develop musical collaborations to bring his message to every corner of the world.
