ASSEMBLE Fellowship

ASSEMBLE is a new international arts programme exploring the climate emergency at the intersection of involuntary migration, displacement, conflict, and ecological decline.

The programme is looking to host three Fellowships open to artists, curators, and cultural practitioners with lived experience of involuntary migration or displacement. These are open to practitioners based in Cyprus, Spain (Basque Country), and Ukraine, seeking to (re)build their curatorial practice and networks across borders.

Starting in June 2026, each Fellow will develop a new curatorial project in their country of residence, responding to climate emergency with the option to consider how it intersects with conflict, displacement, and ecological decline. There will be regular opportunities for in-person meetings and all aspects of production support from the partner organisation throughout the 12-month period, including:

  • Three curatorial labs in Cyprus (11–13 June), Spain (6–8 November), and a hybrid lab from Ukraine (21–23 January 2027);
  • One group residency in the UK (7–17 December);
  • An international conference in Morocco (April 2027);
  • A digital exhibition.

The curatorial project must be ready to present by June 2027.

Co-funded by the European Union and led by D6:EU (Cyprus), ASSEMBLE partners include Congress of Cultural Activists (Ukraine), Moving Artists (Spain), and the international mobility network On the Move, D6: Culture in Transit (UK), ARC – Artist at Risk Connection (France), and Larnaka2030 (Cyprus).

Each Fellow will receive a fee of 9,000 EUR. The Fellows will have access to a production budget of 6,000 EUR (which includes in-country travel and participation or service fees for contributors). All international travel, accommodation and per diems will be paid for by the ASSEMBLE programme.
