ARC @ Cine Sin Fronteras

Tijuana, Mexico

21 November 2025
11:00am to 12:45pm (CST)
CECUT – Sala de Juntas del Cendo
Tijuana, Baja Norte, Mexico

ARC is honored to collaborate with the 2025 edition of Cine Sin Fronteras as part of the Abya Yala Human Rights Film Festival Network, a special subprogram of the wider festival. We will conduct a practical session “Eje Seguridad Digital,” concerning digital safety for filmmakers and film festival teams. The session will take place on Friday, 21 November 2025 from 11:00am to 12:45pm.

Cine Sin Fronteras will run from the 18th to the 22nd of November in Tijuana, a city which symbolizes transit and migrant resistance. With the support of organizations such as Open Society, the Ministry of Culture of Colombia, The Colombian Consulate in Mexico City, Heinrich Böll México, Rosa Luxemburgo México, and Global exchange, the encounter is envisioned as a space of artistic convergence, audiovisual cooperation, and cross-regional cultural diplomacy. From there, the festival will launch a call for integration, the ethical management of human mobility, and the visibility of migrant dignity, turning Tijuana into an epicenter of memory, hope, and collective action.

ARC Session @ Abya Yala Human Rights Film Festival Network (Friday)

As part of the objective to strengthen capacities for safe communication and digital protection in the face of growing censorship and surveillance, ARC Latin America Regional Representative Alessandro Zagato, will lead a workshop on security for filmmakers. ARCs session will focus on digital and general safety for artists and film festival teams, offering practical tools for secure communication, password management, encryption, data protection, and risk assessment. It will also address broader strategies for physical and emotional safety in countries facing authoritarian or repressive contexts in Latin America. The day concludes with a collective dialogue on freedom of expression and the political responses that festivals can articulate in times of neofascist resurgence.
