Mari Claudia García

Program officer, Cuba

Mari Claudia is a multidisciplinary Cuban artist, educator, and arts administrator who serves as the Program Officer for Cuba at ARC – Artists at Risk Connection. She holds an MFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), as well as degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education from the University of the Arts (ISA) in Havana and a diploma from the San Alejandro Academy. García has extensive experience supporting artistic communities through residencies, mentorship, curation, public programming, and teaching at ISA and RISD. Her artistic work explores the intersection of art, politics, and social memory; she has been exhibited in Cuba, the United States, Germany, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, and Denmark, and is included in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Cisneros Fontanals Foundation collections. She has participated in the SHIFT Residency at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, La Isla Residencia, and Amalgama-Barcú.
