Guidelines of assistance

The HKJA advocates for improved working conditions for journalists as well as free press in Hong Kong. This entails monitoring and reporting on the state of press freedom and organizing an annual award ceremony for exemplary members of the press.

Description

The Hong Kong Journalists Association is run by working journalists for the sole purpose of improving the working environment for the men and women who gather the news in Hong Kong. Established in 1968, the HKJA seeks to enhance press freedom and the integrity of news coverage and, as a trade union, also aims to improve working conditions for journalists and to remove barriers to news gathering.
