Physicians for Human Rights (PHR)
Guidelines of assistance
Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) strengthens applications for asylum in the United States through volunteer health professionals who provide medical evaluations to survivors of human rights violations.
Description
PHR investigates and documents human rights violations, gives voice to survivors and witnesses, and plants seeds of reconciliation by ensuring that perpetrators can be held accountable for their crimes. PHR believes that medical ethics are deeply bound to the protection of human rights. PHR uses its core disciplines – science, medicine, forensics, and public health – to inform its research and investigations and to strengthen the skills of frontline human rights defenders across the world.
