The fund awards small artist support grants to individual feminist women in the arts who are U.S. citizens with primary residence in the U.S. and Canada. Grants are not given for self-published work, editing services, or emergency money.

Description

Founded in 1975 by feminist activist Barbara Deming, the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund exists to provide grants to individual feminist women in the arts whose work focuses on women. The board of directors and a select group of accomplished writers judge and collaborate in making awards. Grants are limited to specific categories.
